Apple closes the door of the iPhone to governments

Disable the back door of your devices to obtain information

Apple will shield your iPhone thanks to an upcoming update that will end with a small door that allowed you to extract data from your smartphones, even if they were blocked. A technique that consists of the intrusion through the port of the mobile to load the data externally.

This "back door" allowed governments like the United States to access, for example, the San Bernardino terrorist's iPhone, which Apple refused to unblock. According to Reuters, the system disabled the error limit when entering the device key, allowing indefinite attempts.

Through the update, Apple will interrupt device data one hour after the phone is locked if an incorrect password is used, which will prevent data extraction through the back door. These changes are being implemented in the betas of iOS 11.4.1 and iOS 12.

The Cupertino company has told Reuters that through this iOS update it aims to strengthen the security of its products to help users protect themselves from data theft.

The update is given as an impact to what happened in the case of the San Bernardino iPhone. After the massive shooting that took place in the US city in December 2015, the FBI asked Apple for help to unlock the device of the terrorist Syed Farook, which the company refused alleging to protect the privacy of its users.

After trying to convince Apple to design a security back door in their systems, the FBI used the Lightning port to extract data by means of a tool hired from an Israeli group.
